Central Fingerprint Register Unit
Central Fingerprint Register Unit deals with collection of tenprint cards (fingerprints and palmprints) in paper form, which contain data of persons suspected of committing an indictable offence as well as juveniles who committed crime.
Responsibilities of Central Fingerprint Register Unit include maintaining the collection and making it available to authorised subjects. Employees of this Unit are tasked with introduction of data from nationwide-gathered tenprint cards, made for record purposes, to AFIS. This allows for a rapid identification of persons and more efficient utilisation of the collection.
