VISIT OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES (IUGS) IN THE CENTRAL FORENSIC LABORATORY OF THE POLICE

On 21 February 2020 the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police hosted two scientists associated in the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), dr Laurance Donnelly (England) and dr Alastair Ruffell (Northern Ireland), who are initiators and members of Initiative on Forensic Geology, promoting the international cooperation with law enforcement agencies in the field of forensic geology.

The delegation was welcomed by Director of the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police, col. dr Radosław Juźwiak, who presented the activities of the CFLP, including its domestic and international cooperation as well as the opportunities to promote scientific achievements through publications in “Issues of Forensic Science”. The visitors became familiarized with the activity of examination unit of the Chemistry Department, where, with particular interest, they listened to the presentation on the comparative analysis of micro-traces, such as paint and fibres, delivered by expert in forensic chemistry, Katarzyna Razarenkow.
