On 25—27 March 2019 Ewa Siedlecka, from the Document Examination and Audiovisual Techniques Department, took part in the “High Security Printing” conference organized by RECONNAISSANCE association in St. Julian (Malta).

The conference was attended by world specialists in the field of examination of documents as well as their production with use of anti-forgery means, i.e. central banks, law enforcement agencies and institutions responsible for issuing public documents. As part of the event, the representatives of governmental organizations visited two secured printing works based in Malta – Crane Currency and De La Rue. During seven conference sessions, the attendees discussed the latest trends in counterfeiting as well as recently introduced banknotes and identity documents. The representatives of the Polish Security Printing Works presented security features of the new Polish passport, which was put into circulation in 2018. The participants had an opportunity to get familiar with the latest solutions and achievements in the area of document protection against counterfeiting. The subject conference was accompanied by a fair, attended by 36 exhibitors representing manufacturers of individual securities and producers of ID cards, booklets and paper documents.  The acquired information will support the activities of CFLP employees within the framework of the Expert Group on drafting document specimens and their security means appointed by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and will also allow to fulfill the tasks resulting from the provisions of the newly introduced Act on Public Documents, such as the assessment of the quality of public documents.
