XXVII meeting of European Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice – eu-LISA EURODAC Advisory Group took place on 6 December 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia. The meeting was attended by participants from the European Union member countries, the European Commission and eu-LISA Agency. Poland was represented by Małgorzata Walecka, expert in Fingerprint Examination Department of CFLP.

The raised issues were related to the functioning of EURODAC system and actions taken by eu-LISA in terms of maintenance and development of the infrastructure of the operationally managed SIS II, VIS and EURODAC central systems. The draft of Work Program for years 2020-2022 was accepted and the plans related to the use of Universal Message Format (UMF) in asylum systems were discussed. Currently, UMF is applied for transfer of data in the context of law enforcement. The lecturers summarized the workshops organized as part of the network of Dublin European Asylum Support Office (EASO) units, emphasizing the need to create a communication channel between the DubliNet network and EURODAC Advisory Group. The goal of the meeting was also to develop an exercise plan for 2019, designed to check the safety and continuity of EURODAC operation.
