MEETING OF EXPERTS IN FORENSIC GENETICS AND CHEMICAL EXAMINATIONS UNDER TRIADA COOPERATION ON “DNA–BONES” AND “CHEMISTRY–DRUG EXAMINATION”
On 12—14 June 2019 the meeting of experts in forensic genetics and chemical examination from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, organized by Kriminalisticky a expertizny ustav policajneho zboru from Slovenska Lupca took place in Bańska Bystrzyca (Slovakia). Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police was represented by major Ewa Kadyjewska and Joanna Życka-Krzesińska from Biology Department and major Alicja Olek and Jowita Polak from Chemistry Department.
During the meeting experts in forensic genetics could exchange their experiences related to the examination of bone material and presented interesting cases of identification of unidentified corpses. Qiagen company presented the latest technological solutions used in bone genetic testing and conducted research using its own equipment. During their meeting experts in chemical examination could discuss issues related to the examination of psychoactive substances and new substances affecting the central nervous system, with particular emphasis on legislation in individual countries. The meeting participants visited the Slovenska Lupca laboratory, in which they got acquainted with research procedures and equipment used by experts.
