The meeting of heads of institutes and forensic laboratories affiliated to the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) took place in Rome on 29—31 May 2019. The Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police was represented by Deputy Director col. Adam Frankowski and Agnieszka Łukomska – adviser in the Scientific Development Department.

This year’s meeting was mainly devoted to the future of ENFSI, including discussions on the new strategic plan. The participants discussed current activities of the association and project implemented under EU-Direct Grants, whose beneficiaries are all member laboratories; topics of current projects are focused on issues of ensuring the quality of forensic examinations and accreditation of further areas in the so-called forensic process. The meeting, organized by the forensic laboratory of the Italian Police, was attended by almost 100 representatives of leading European agencies carrying out forensic examinations.
