ID @ BORDERS AND FUTURE OF TRAVEL CONFERENCE 2019

On 11—12 April 2019 the ID @ Borders and Future of Travel Conference 2019 organized jointly by the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) and the Biometrics Institute took place in Vienna. The Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police was represented by lt. Maria Szumilas-Wiśniewska – an expert from the Document Examination and Audiovisual Techniques Department.

The two days Conference raised the issues related to the responsible use of biometric data as well as the potential of using biometric technologies in combating terrorism. On the first day of the Conference the experts from the OSCE and the Biometrics Institute conducted a short training course for the representatives of countries that do not use biometric technologies yet. The Conference was attended by about 200 representatives of various organizations and institutions from around the world.
