The 15th scientific seminar “Kriminalistika v praktickych prikladoch” took place on 19th March 2019 in Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Trnava. The event was organized by the Institute of Forensic Science (IFS) of the Slovak Police, Slovak Forensic Society and Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of STU.

The representatives of the institutes cooperating under the TRIADA agreement, namely the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police and the Institute of Criminalistics (ICP) from the Czech Republic were invited to participate in this meeting. During the seminar experts from the Slovak forensic laboratories and the invited guests presented examples of various forensic cases, which ended up with the detection of perpetrators, thanks to the use of forensic examinations. The Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police was represented by lt. Michał Borusiński PhD, the Head of the Toolmark and Ballistics Department, and Jarosław Rosiak – senior specialist from the same department, who gave a speech about an unusual case of a suicide attempt using a nail fired from a homemade firearms.
