“IT MEETING” IN EUROPOL

On 24—25 February 2019 the meeting within the framework of PL/2017/PR/008 project: “Building of a central information system on files related to criminal activity” took place in the Europol headquarters in Haque. The meeting was attended by: Col. Krzysztof Borkowski PhD, Deputy Director of the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police, lt. Anna Przewor, Head of Document Examination and Audiovisual Techniques Department of CFLP as well as Artur Bujak and Marzena Holak.

During the meeting the representatives of Europol discussed the role of the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) and indicated the areas of activity and categories of crime of their interest. They also presented the current state of activities in the scope of decryption of encrypted contents, tools and methods at the disposal of EC3 and selected aspects of IT forensics. Artur Bujak, senior research and technical specialist discussed the subject and scope of activity of the Institute and presented two projects: “Building of a central information system on files related to criminal activity” (PL/2017/PR/008) and “Innovative tool for acquisition and protection of digital data” (PL/2017/PR/0015), which are financed by Internal Security Fund and implemented by IT unit of the Document Examination and Audiovisual Techniques Department of CFLP.
