InSec 2018 International Exhibition and Conference on Border Security and Internal Security, under the honorary patronage of Minister of Interior and Administration, took place on 15—16 November 2018 in Warsaw. CFLP was represented by lt. dr eng. Michał Borusiński, lt. col. Edyta Kot, Małgorzata Walecka and dr Kamil Januszkiewicz.

The opening speech was delivered by Secretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Mr Jarosław Zieliński. lt. dr eng. Michał Borusiński, head of Toolmark and Ballistic Department, participated in the “Contemporary and future challenges in the field of combating terrorism and organized crime” discussion panel, during which he presented the Institute research capabilities in the field of combating terrorism. During the session “Modern technologies and their implementation as part of modernization of uniformed services subordinate to the Minister of Interior and Administration – good practices and plans for the future” lt. col. Edyta Kot, Head, and Małgorzata Walecka, expert in Fingerprints Examination Department CFLP delivered a presentation “AFIS in Poland”. As part of the exhibition accompanying the conference dr Kamil Januszkiewicz from Biology Department CFLP presented the use of 2D/3D imaging technology as well as both apparatus and software from two CFLP projects funded by The National Centre for Research and Development: “Reconstruction of the course of the event based on the appearance of bloodstains” and “Support tool for conducting pre-trial proceedings and performing activities in the detection process through recreating the appearance of the event site and the circumstances of the event”.
