Meeting of forensic experts in traseology under TRIADA Agreement

On 12-14 of September 2017 a meeting of forensic experts in traseology from Poland, Czech and Slovakia took place in The Institute of Criminalistics Prague (Czech Republic).

The meeting was devoted mainly to the issues related to identification of footwear and utilization of traseological evidence in judicial and extrajudicial proceedings. Additionally, Czech experts presented the newest version of TRASIS system – an application dedicated for identification of shoe sole patterns and combining the crime sites basing upon traseological evidence. The Slovakian experts presented “APTO” - the system for semi-automatic identification of footwear. During the workshops, the participants acquainted with the functionalities of a gelatin foil scanners as well as application for comparative analysis as tool for enhancing the effectivity of evidence utilization. Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police was represented by forensic experts in traseology – Ms Joanna Jędraszek and Mr Adam Godlewski.
